Our Story

"I will give you shepherds after my own heart, who will lead you with knowledge and understanding." Jeremiah 3:15nasb

Recently, Rev. Frank and Kaye Skies resigned after 20 years of leading the Bellefonte Church of The Good Shepherd.  In 2002, Pastor Frank and Kaye Skies became the new pastor family.  Their youthfulness and unique ministry experiences offered our church the ability to look at our "mission field" with new perspective.  Besides shepherding the flock at Bellefonte Church of The Good Shepherd, they helped us transition into being seasoned believers with fresh ways to reach people with little or no spiritual knowledge and experience.  They also served in the community as volunteers.

The Northeast District of The Churches of Christ in Christian Union voted to re-elect Rev. Skies for a 3rd term as District Superintendent.

God's Faithfulness to His People...

The Church of The Good Shepherd was started in the early 1960's by Rev. Thomas Frantz, and his lovely wife, Marlene. The church was an independent work affiliated with the Evangelical Holiness groups. In 1967, the church was fully incorporated. Rev. Frantz pastored until 1997, when he suddenly went to be with the Lord.
The Church was pastored, then, by Rev. Don Seymour, who at the time, was also, the District Superintendent of the Churches of Christ in Christian Union ( Northeast District). The Church of The Good Shepherd became part of the Churches of Christ in Christian Union. Rev. Seymour was followed by Rev. Robert Williams, and then, in 2002 Rev. Frank Skies became the pastor.
We Teach from the Bible, which is the very word of God as it tells us in 2 Timothy 3:16
All scripture is God breathed and is useful for Teaching, Rebuking, Correcting and training in Righteousness. (2 Timothy 3:16)
We believe - in the Trinity of God. (Father, Son and Holy spirit)
We believe - That Jesus Christ was crucified, rose from the grave ascended into heaven and is seated at the right hand of the Father. (Colossians 3:1)
Since, then, you have been raised with Christ, set your hearts on things above, where Christ is seated at the right hand of the Father.  (Colossians 3:1)
